Biography<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

L\u00e9o Yeung (\u694a\u667a\u8c6a \/ \u30e4\u30f3\u30fb\u30ec\u30aa)<\/strong> is a contemporary interdisciplinary artist based in France, whose practice spans France, Hong Kong and Japan. Working across painting, sculpture, installation, and experimental materials, his work explores the relationships between materiality, <\/strong>nature, and migration<\/strong>, investigating the generative and transformative forces that continuously shape the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Yeung became actively involved in the city’s independent art community from an early age. For more than a decade, he was an active member of the inter-school art collective Art Focus<\/strong>, participating in exhibitions, curatorial projects, and cultural programs while engaging in dialogue with established Hong Kong artists. These formative experiences cultivated an open perspective on contemporary art and laid the foundation for his curatorial approach, which continues to inform his artistic practice today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having lived and worked in France for over fifteen years, Yeung has developed his artistic practice through long-term immersion in Paris’ contemporary art environment<\/strong>. Alongside his independent studio practice, he further developed his practice through independent studio work and artistic practice at the Atelier des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris, while continually expanding his artistic perspective through museums, galleries, artists’ studios, and international cultural exchange. Living in one of the world’s leading centers of contemporary art has profoundly shaped his approach, deepening his engagement with abstraction, conceptual inquiry, material experimentation, and process-based practice, ultimately leading to a visual language that bridges Eastern and Western cultural perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yeung holds a Master of Philosophy<\/strong> from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology<\/strong>, where his research focused on digital imaging, interactive systems, and human\u2013computer interaction. He has published academic papers and received international creative technology awards from Microsoft, Samsung, and Intel. This background continues to inform his artistic practice, where material research, technological media, and conceptual thinking intersect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Living and working between Paris, Hong Kong, and Hokkaido continues to provide Yeung with diverse cultural and artistic perspectives.In recent years, Hokkaido, Japan<\/strong>, has become an important site of artistic research within his practice. Its natural landscapes, craft traditions, and regional cultural practices have become important sources of inspiration for his work. Alongside his studio practice, he actively develops interdisciplinary cultural initiatives connecting contemporary art, technology, education, and regional cultural development, exploring how art can foster dialogue and meaningful connections across cultures, communities, and generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
