\u201cClouds in Transition\u201d, an exhibition by L\u00e9o Yeung, explores the themes of impermanence, society, and the emotional weight of pursuing dreams across distances. Inspired by the transient nature of clouds, Yeung reflects on his own experiences of migration, asking the poignant question: Why do we feel the need to fly across the sky to chase our dreams? His work draws on the metaphor of gazing out from an airplane window, where the turbulent, noisy interior contrasts with the serene, peaceful clouds outside\u2014a duality that mirrors the human experience of navigating internal struggles while seeking external aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the heart of Yeung\u2019s practice is his transformation of spray foam, a construction material used to fill gaps and isolate walls, into organic, cloud-like sculptures. This material, typically hidden within structures, becomes a poetic vessel for exploring the tension between permanence and impermanence, stability and movement. The foam\u2019s ability to expand and take shape parallels the human desire to bridge voids\u2014whether physical, emotional, or cultural\u2014while its final forms evoke the fleeting beauty of memories and transitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through \u201cClouds in Transition\u201d, Yeung invites viewers to reflect on their own journeys, transitions, and dreams. His sculptures, with their interplay of light, texture, and shadow, create a sense of wonder and introspection, much like watching clouds drift across the sky. By transforming the mundane into the sublime, Yeung celebrates the beauty of the in-between\u2014the spaces where turbulence and serenity coexist\u2014and reminds us that, while we chase dreams across vast skies, it is the journey itself that shapes who we are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’exposition \u00ab Nuages \u200b\u200ben Transition \u00bb de L\u00e9o Yeung explore les th\u00e8mes de l’impermanence, de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 et du poids \u00e9motionnel de la poursuite de r\u00eaves \u00e0 distance. Inspir\u00e9 par la nature \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re des nuages, Yeung revient sur ses propres exp\u00e9riences migratoires et pose une question poignante : pourquoi ressentons-nous le besoin de voler \u00e0 travers le ciel pour poursuivre nos r\u00eaves ? \u200b\u200bSon \u0153uvre s’inspire de la m\u00e9taphore du regard ambiant depuis le hublot d’un avion, o\u00f9 l’int\u00e9rieur turbulent et bruyant contraste avec les nuages \u200b\u200bsereins et paisibles \u00e0 l’ext\u00e9rieur \u2013 une dualit\u00e9 qui refl\u00e8te l’exp\u00e9rience humaine, celle de la gestion des luttes int\u00e9rieures tout en poursuivant des aspirations ext\u00e9rieures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au c\u0153ur de la pratique de Yeung se trouve la transformation de la mousse pulv\u00e9ris\u00e9e, un mat\u00e9riau de construction utilis\u00e9 pour combler les vides et isoler les murs, en sculptures organiques, semblables \u00e0 des nuages. Ce mat\u00e9riau, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement dissimul\u00e9 dans des structures, devient un vecteur po\u00e9tique pour explorer la tension entre permanence et impermanence, stabilit\u00e9 et mouvement. La capacit\u00e9 de la mousse \u00e0 se dilater et \u00e0 prendre forme refl\u00e8te le d\u00e9sir humain de combler les vides \u2013 qu’ils soient physiques, \u00e9motionnels ou culturels \u2013 tandis que ses formes finales \u00e9voquent la beaut\u00e9 fugace des souvenirs et des transitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avec \u00ab Clouds in Transition \u00bb, Yeung invite le spectateur \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir \u00e0 ses propres parcours, transitions et r\u00eaves. Ses sculptures, avec leurs jeux de lumi\u00e8re, de texture et d’ombre, suscitent un sentiment d’\u00e9merveillement et d’introspection, un peu comme l’observation des nuages \u200b\u200bqui d\u00e9rivent dans le ciel. En transformant le banal en sublime, Yeung c\u00e9l\u00e8bre la beaut\u00e9 de l’entre-deux \u2013 ces espaces o\u00f9 turbulence et s\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9 cohabitent \u2013 \u200b\u200bet nous rappelle que, si nous poursuivons nos r\u00eaves \u00e0 travers les vastes cieux, c’est le voyage lui-m\u00eame qui nous fa\u00e7onne.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
